Bridging the gap between alternative types of medicine and science

Alternative types of medicine is the use of health care approaches to replace conventional medicine. These types of approaches include oxygen, chiropractic, naturopathy, and homeopathy medicine, among others.

As our son continues to progress the search for alternative types of medicine begins along with the conventional methods already in place. The hospital policies do not cover most of the alternative approaches and in many cases I was told that there are “no clinical case studies” to support many of these methods. But in fact there are many clinical trials that support many of these therapies. The fact is that past medical discoveries reveal how excruciatingly slow the medical establishment adopts novel concepts. Even simple methods to improve medical quality often meet with fierce resistance from the medical establishment, pharmaceutical and insurance companies. The federal government has taken extraordinary steps to censor this type of information and many of the conventional methods the hospitals do support do not have clinical case studies supporting them either.

So we took it upon ourselves to take him to outside sources .

The research and hands on approach in alternative medicine have led to interesting and amazing results. Not all approaches seem to benefit the brain injury population but many do and supplements play a very important role.

Every day, many new studies are published in peer-reviewed journals that reveal better ways of preventing and treating disease.

The term alternative medicine means any healing practice “that does not fall within the realm of conventional medicine.”

History of alternative types of medicine is long and involved.

It dates back to thousands of years ago. Medical history reveals startling examples of scientific discoveries that were suppressed by whatever establishment ruled the day. Rejecting new ideas has long been a common medical ideology and those who fell ill suffered horrendous deaths as a result. Authorities often suppress lifesaving discoveries.

Pro-active research is an important part of applying different therapy.

We researched them all and found many of the energy based therapies worked.

  • They were at least interesting and extremely calming.

  • Reiki is an ancient and profoundly simple system of “laying on of hands” healing derived from Tibetan Buddhism.
  • Japa Imagine that you can attract whatever you want into your life or a loved one’s life just by practicing this form of meditation. For me it helped relieve stress and keeps me focused on our son’s full recovery.

We live in a world where medical discoveries have become routine events. The sheer volume of new findings have overwhelmed physicians. The result is that people are dying needlessly, even though therapies to prevent or treat their diseases already exist.
